DELTA ROYAL FATHERS COMMEND DTHA


Traditional rulers in Delta State have commended the State House of Assembly for the progressive and purposeful legislations it has introduced in line with the constitutional expectations of the legislature in democratic settings.
The acclaim was made by the Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atunwase II, the Olu of Warri, through the first vice-chairman of the council, Obi (Dr) Emmanuel Efeizomor II, the Obi of Owa kingdom during a visit by the general purpose committee of the body to the Speaker of the State legislature, Rt Hon. Victor Ochei FNSE in his office.

According to the Monarch, the commendation was inspired by the impressive track record of life enhancing legislations which the house had passed in its first year as the fifth assembly in the state.
He praised the legislators for their maturity and avowed commitment to ensuring that Deltans reaped the benefits of democracy through meaningful legislations, adding that such steps are in tune with the aspirations and hopes of the royal fathers who are eager to partner the three arms of government in her quest for positive impact on the polity.
Responding, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Victor Ochei applauded the royal fathers for their forth right disposition toward maintaining peace within their diverse domains, which is a necessary tool for effective governance.
The Speaker noted that such trend had encouraged the state government tremendously in ensuring the implementation of the government’s three point agenda, aimed at providing enhance democracy dividend to the people of the state, adding that it is only natural for the government to always seek the wise counsel of the royal fathers, whom he described as the custodians of wisdom.
Hon Ochei then pledged that the legislature as an integral part of government machinery, will always strive to partner with the traditional institution in the state.
