2015 GUBER RACE: DELTA TRANSFORMATION PROJECT ADOPTS OCHEI AS DELTA NORTH CANDIDATE


Ahead of the 2015 governorship poll in Delta state, a front-line socio-political pressure group, the Delta Transformation Project (DTP), has unanimously adopted Rt. Hon. Victor Onyekachi Ochei, Speaker of the state House of Assembly as best candidate from Delta North, after a successful opinion poll conducted within the three senatorial districts of the state.
The DTP, with intentions to ensure that Delta state is politically stable and peaceful with transformational development that is built on equity, justice and good governance, said the opinion poll was conducted to determine who is the most favoured governorship candidate from the Delta North Senatorial District.

The group, after the adoption has vowed to mobilize support for the emergence of Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei as the suitably qualified indigene of Delta North District to run for the office of governor of Delta state in 2015.
Meanwhile, in readiness to enthrone Rt. Hon Ochei, as the most credible Delta North candidate in the 2015 governorship poll, the Delta Transformation Project (DTP), has successfully adopted its consttution as ammended by the Congress at an enlarged meeting on Saturday, September 17, 2012held at City Square, Asaba.
The group which has already evolved effective strategies to attain its set goals, through advocacy campaigns, lobbying, media discourse, policy influencing, sensitization, mobilization, consultations and dialogue with stakeholders also conducted the election of the Board of Directors (BOD) to pilot the affairs of the 2015 Delta Transformation Project (DTP).

Hon. Kingsley Opone-    (Ndokwa East)-    Director of Finance
Chief Okeh Taiwo-    (Ethiope East)-    Director of Mobilization and Contact
Mr. Ken Rafua-    (Aniocha South)-    Director of Research, Strategy and Development
Mr. Royal Johnson-    (Warri North)-    Director of Welfare
Meanwhile, the Director of Publicity, Mr. Shadrack S. Udu promised that the core objectives of the Delta Transformation Project (DTP) would form the benchmark for recording the successful implementation of the set targets ahead of the 2015 general elections in Delta state.
He said that as a socio-political platform, the group will stimulate, influence and encourage the enthronement of good governance for the sustainable development of Delta state, as well as becoming a platform for the mentoring of other political groups and political office seekers in Delta state.
Mr. Udu further pointed out that the DTP will also serve as a platform for consensus building in the advocacy for “Unity in Equity”, through the articulation and propagation of democratic principles of social justice, economic development and good governance in the state.
He added that the DTP would collaborate with all stakeholders in the promotion and actualization of its mandate to ensure that Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei is elected as governor of Delta state.
Also, the facilitator of the group, Dr. Ebi Franklin Waboke insisted that the group, which presently parades thousands of dedicated supporters drawn from the three Senatorial Districts, is determined to reposition the political system in the state.
He noted that one of the group’s missions ahead of the 2015 general elections is to ensure that the Delta North Senatorial District of the state produces the next governor, since they have not enjoyed a fair share in the governance of Delta state since inception.
He however disclosed that while the doors of the DTP are open to members who intends to join the group in mobilizing full support for Rt. Hon. Victor Ochei, a qualified indigene of Delta North who had submitted himself to the scrutiny of the group.
