2015 GUBER: GROUP WANTS DELTA SPEAKER AS CONSENSUS CANDIDATE

Members of the Ijaw Action Group for Change has stated that the Ijaws in Delta State will only support Delta North Senatorial District for governor in 2015 if they present Hon. Victor Ochei, Speaker Delta State House of Assembly as their consensus candidate.
The group made this known at Burutu, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area, Delta State on Friday when executive members of the Delta Focus Group (DFG), a pro-Ochei group, met with the Ijaw Action Group for Change to appeal to them to support Ochei for governor in 2015.

Leader of the group, Hon. Lucky Oweimieotu, who spoke during the meeting thanked members of the DFG for their bold step in campaigning for  Ochei , describing the DFG as a group made up of erudite and dedicated members who any other governorship aspirant cannot cajole with money.
Oweimieotu described Ochei as a successful leader in business, politics and a man with impeccable character with strong finesse for success and has the competence and leadership quality to build on the laudable legacy of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan should he become governor in 2015.
He said, “Many of them campaigning now will drop out before the real business but we know that Hon. Victor Ochei will be in the race to the end. That is why he remains the best to us, the Ijaws, because he has shown to us that the young have more vigour than the old.
“As a speaker, he has removed ‘the toothless bulldog’ slogan that used to be the name of the State House of Assembly to a vibrant one with the passage of positive bills including the recent anti-kidnapping bill.”
